I graduated of a CACREP accredited Masters program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from snowy Niagara University in 2011. I completed my 200HR yoga teacher training from the Yoga Project in Ft Worth, Texas in 2010. Being both a yoga instructor and mental health counselor has lead me to approach personal growth and healing through a holistic perspective. My yoga classes are heavily rooted in practicing principles like mindfulness, self awareness, and emotional regulation (all tools vital to mental health). As a mental health counselor, I am able to teach yoga in a away that is sensitive and supportive to trauma survivors. I have clinical work experience working in a collegiate setting, as well as in inpatient and residential treatment facilities. I spent time working with substance abuse as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Kansas before making the move to sunny Florida. I am in the process of obtaining full licensure in the state of Florida for psychotherapy. I am currently a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern in Florida and working under the supervision of Dr Ibis Brito and Associates. I am currently accepting new clients for therapy. My philosophy in counseling and yoga
I am a believer in the mind/ body connection and spend time in both yoga sessions and counseling sessions incorporating the benefits of mindfulness, self awareness and guided meditation. I believe that although our past has played a great role in who we are today, the future is hopeful and often determined by how we choose to author that narrative. I like to spend time in counseling sessions (and yoga classes) focusing on the present and most importantly cultivating inspiration for the future. I pride myself in speaking honestly with love and acceptance.
