I see a lot of people who want change but aren’t ready to make change. Society is quick to look at this behavior as a personal failure when it’s not. Sometimes we have to work at creating the space to make us comfortable to make change. Sometimes we have to work on other issues first. . Wait? I have to do work.. before I do the work? Yep. Healing and changing your life is no joke. . Sometimes it’s creating an environment that will support you. Sometimes it’s working through your perfectionism. Sometimes it’s acknowledging the barrier to change. . if you relate to this, and feel “stuck” maybe it’s time to spend time reflecting on why you haven’t taken steps to change yet. Without guilt. And understanding a lot of these reasons are of no fault of your own. . Are you hard on yourself for not making changes or staying “stuck”?
Is it really the most wonderful time of the year? As kids, you betcha! As an adult, the holidays come with pressures and obligations of its own. Here is your permission to say NO. To do what you WANT to do and what brings your JOY this season and not what you feel obligated to do. . Here is your chance to reflect on your holiday “to do” list and decide WHY it’s on the list. Is it because you love it and I nourishes you this season? Or is it a cultural obligation? . We are in the thick of postpartum life, so no travel, no extravagant meals, no big shopping trips. We are really having to stream line what matters this season and what we can realistically do. It’s refreshing in a way to have an excuse to say “not this year”. . What are holiday traditions that you are kicking to the curb this year?
This is my favorite photo of Nora meeting her brothers at the hospital. Yep, the babies are no where in it, but when she entered the hospital room, she ran straight to me. Her mama. Regardless of the hype and excitement of being a big sister, she ran to mama. . The weight and gravity of being the rock, the comforter, the mama of now 3 little people is overwhelming. . It’s the kind of overwhelming that will give your anxiety permission to run your life. . But it’s also the kind of overwhelming that will bring you to tears of gratitude over the importance of the work that is motherhood. . #twinpostpartum #noparentalone #twinmama #therapistsofinstagram #miamimom #postpartum #4thtrimester #motherhoodthroughinstagram #mothersanddaughters
Life update: I still can’t hold both of these boys without looking awkward like this. Also tandem breastfeeding feels like herding kittens. I have 73926 voicemails, emails, and messages that I haven’t responded to and I’m not entirely sure what day it is. Two at once is really hard but really fun. But bless my family for all the support. I can’t imagine doing this alone. I wanted to take a moment to talk about PSI’s #noparentalone campaign. They are launching a hotline for support 1-800-944-4773 and working to connect and support parents. Share this resource with the world y’all. #noparentalone #perinatalsupportinternational #twinmomlife #twinmom #postpartum #maternalmentalhealth
We welcomed two eager healthy baby boys into our family last Thursday. So grateful for my birthing team and birth experience. Thank you all for the support and love during this season. 💙💙
Life update: still on baby watch over here! But I no longer look like this 😂 just being honest! All of the “your the cutest pregnant person” comments are slowly transitioning into the “bless your heart” comments. 😂 This is such a emotional season as I constantly go back and forth from excitement to meet these babies and fear of change out of this beautiful season as a family of 3. . What did you do to savor the last few weeks of pregnancy? . Gorgeous maternity photos by @cosmiclovephotography
