Why Perinatal Counseling?
As a mental health professional, we all receive general training. I have continued my education through Postpartum Support International to better serve individuals in the perinatal period (trying to conceive, postpartum, expecting, recent loss, ect). It is important that you are working with a provider who understands the physiological changes happening and how it impacts your mental health. This is a unique period of life and it impacts everything from medication choices to your social needs. It is always better to have a therapist who specializes.
I am new to therapy, what does this look like?
Hoorah! Congrats on taking steps to prioritize and better your health. The hardest part of this process is to send that initial email or phone call. I always do 20 minute free phone consults with potential clients. In this call, I will share more about myself and will learn a bit about you and your needs. If we are a good fit, we schedule an initial session. There is some online paperwork involved and we utilize this first session to set goals, create a plans and then get to work!
Do you take my insurance?
I do not take insurance. Having the freedom to be able to craft the care and treatment for my clients without restrictions and regulations of insurance companies is important to me. I value not having to share your health information with a third party. If you wish to file with your insurance company for reimbursement I am happy to provide you with the needed paperwork to do so.
What are your fees?
55 minute individual counseling session – $120
30 minute individual check in session (for existing clients) – $60.
